Geysers

This week in my class we have been learning about geysers.I have learned a lot about then now I hope reading this text you will understand why.

There are three reasons why it’s important to study geysers. First, geysers are a model for how volcanoes erupt. And we care about how they erupt, what initiates the eruption, how everything rises to the surface, how it gets transported in the atmosphere. Volcanoes are big and dangerous, and they don’t erupt very often. Geysers are small, and much less dangerous, and they erupt many times. And one of the things we hope to learn from geysers is how to understand and model eruptions more generally. We can also deploy a range of geophysical instruments at geysers. We can use seismometers to measure ground motion, we can measure electric and magnetic fields, we can take videos, and we can try and integrate all these different types of measurements to understand what happens during an eruption. And then we can try to transfer this understanding from small geysers to big volcanoes.

 

The second reason that we care about geysers is that they are a window into how the Earth transports hot water. There are features called geothermal systems which we use for geothermal energy, and geothermal systems make materials like gold deposits. By transporting hot fluids, you can transport all of the elements that dissolve in water. And when we look at a geyser we get a window into how the Earth is transporting a mixture of steam and water.

 

And the third reason is that they are interesting, fascinating natural phenomena. If we understand how the Earth transports fluids and energy, we should be able to explain how geysers work. And the extent to which we can’t do so tells us that there’s basic things about the heat transport of the Earth that we don’t know yet

The rest of my speech.

 Today I finally got my speech recorded!Like I said in my last blog that I was sooooo excited to present my speech when it was my turn to get recorded I was so stoked and a little bit nervous.Did you know that I do not mind when I am doing something with someone at an humongous presentation but by myself at a  humongous presentation or just a small one I get nervous I guess that it is just a thing I get.

My speech is about the future title is how the future changes do you like it?I do.It was hard to find a title that I liked but I found one and that was it .

The things that I wrote on it were about what the future is going to look like and what is going to happen and how people will react,And what I am going to do when I am older.

any way I have almost finished my speech.I can not wait to share my speech it is so exciting!I am excited to share my speech because I think it is the best I have done.

Because I have and I am going to tell you my thoughts.Right now it is tough because of covid 19 but that will not affect the future.Do you think the future is going to be amazing? Because I do. Have you ever thought about your dream future?I think the future will have tons of hovercrafts and robot house maids and a lot of other cool things.I am certain you will love the future that I am going to explain. if you do not think about the future then you will not have any ideas of what it could be like. If you have any ideas I think that you should write it down.

My Newspaper Report

Recently my class made newspaper report .This newspaper report was about a bird and we think it died.There were three suspects/our teachers.One of the suspects were holding newspaper and another was holding a chair, The third suspect was holding a tennis racket there will be more information in the newspaper report that I will share with you after all of this.Making newspaper report was very fun we all had different ways of writing our own newspaper report.Have you ever written newspaper report before?Well as I said I would share you my newspaper report here it is.

The incident

This is an unusual incident that happened at Yaldhurst Model School in Te Mahuri.This school normally does not have any incidents but, there was one that happened on Tuesday at 4:30 after all the students left.There were only our teachers Ms Dodds, Mrs Taylor and Miss Baker. Someone says that they heard a scream and they rushed to see what had happened. Then she said she saw two teachers staring at the floor that had a dead bird.One of the teachers had a tennis racket, one of the teachers had a roll of newspaper in their hand and the last teacher had a chair. WE interviewed all three of the teachers. The younger one said that she would never hurt a bird but she would hurt a seagull.  Teacher two said that when she saw the bird die she was so sorry for it but the last teacher, (teacher 3)said that she would never hurt a bee. Teacher one said that she was taking a video to show the children.That afternoon we asked her why she was holding the chair and she replied that teacher 3’s jacket was on the chair. The chair fell and she went to pick up the chair. She also told us that the bird was in there because the students had left lots of crumbs. Teacher 2 said that she had a newspaper in her hand because there were lots of flies in the class and she was trying to whack the flys.Teacher 3 said that she had a tennis racket in her hand because she was showing her sick back hand. But I was suspicious of this one particular teacher.She said she would never hurt a bee but not a bird so I thought that this teacher was the person that did it but I might be wrong. The Principal said that he would call the police and we still haven't solved this case yet.I am still not going to give in this is all the information I have, FOR NOW ...

                                                                                                                    

My last straw work book.

This week I have been working on a work book called The Last Straw. The last straw is a work book about pranks. It was a very cool project and I love it I am going to show you a slide of what it look like ant the end of the blog. My next steps are probably to write more specifically, especially using more describing words. The slide that I am going to put on is one of the slides that I like the most.
